As part of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/snl.no\/Barentssamarbeidet\">Barents cooperation<\/a>&nbsp;residents of the Norwegian-Russian border can travel freely without&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/snl.no\/visum\">visa<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The East Sami settlement&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/snl.no\/Skoltebyen\"><em>Skoltebyen<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;is a protected cultural monument. In Skoltebyen is located&nbsp;<em>St. George&#039;s Chapel<\/em>&nbsp;which is the only orthodox chapel in Norway and the country&#039;s smallest church. According to tradition, the chapel was built in the 16th century by the monk&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/snl.no\/Trifon_av_Petsjenga\">Trifon by Petsjenga<\/a>&nbsp;(1495\u20131583).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nature<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The bedrock belongs&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/snl.no\/%C3%98st-Finnmarks_grunnfjellsomr%C3%A5de\">East Finnmark&#039;s bedrock area<\/a>. Northwest of Neiden exists&nbsp;<em>Neidengranitten<\/em>&nbsp;which was formed about 2,500 million years ago. It is slightly deformed and cuts through the older gneiss. The granite is also found around&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/snl.no\/Jarfjorden\">Jarfjorden<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through Neiden flows\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/snl.no\/Neidenelva\">Neidenelva<\/a>\u00a0which is among Finnmark&#039;s best salmon rivers. It is built\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/snl.no\/laksetrapp\">laksetrapp<\/a>.
